Apple MacBook Neo base model may disappear amid RAM shortage cost pressure
Apple may stop selling the $599 MacBook Neo base model and keep only the $699 version with 512GB storage, an analyst said, citing a continuing RAM shortage and rising costs. Similar changes have appeared in other Mac lineups, including the Mac mini and Mac Studio. Demand for the MacBook Neo has also surged, with delivery taking 2 to 3 weeks and production reportedly increasing toward 10 million units. Apple has not announced any changes.

Can Apple\'s MacBook Neo handle work tasks? Documents, collaboration and Photoshop run smoothly
A hands-on review says Apple’s entry-level MacBook Neo, launched in March, delivers enough performance for everyday tasks such as writing documents, web-based collaboration and light image editing. The laptop uses an A18 Pro CPU used in the iPhone 16 Pro and is priced below $600, or 990,000 won in South Korea. Testing focused on typical workflows rather than pro video production. Reviewers cited missing keyboard backlighting, a different trackpad feel, USB-C charging and battery drain as drawbacks.
