Apple is preparing more than 20 new products aimed at release in 2026, and new hardware and software could be unveiled as early as January.

Foreign media outlets including 9to5Mac reported on Jan. 2 that Apple is expected to begin unveiling new products early in the year, focusing on MacBook and operating system updates.

The first products in focus are 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models equipped with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. Apple released a base 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M5 chip in October last year but did not unveil higher-end models. The new models are expected to be a higher-end lineup with sharply improved performance, with no major changes in design or appearance. A major MacBook Pro redesign is expected at the end of the year or in early 2026.

Apple could also introduce a new low-cost MacBook with an A18 Pro chip this month. It is expected to be the first case of applying the same chip used in the iPhone 16 Pro to a Mac product. The model is expected to have a 12.9-inch display and be priced below $1,000. It may come in various colors including silver, blue, pink and yellow.

In the first quarter, the M5 MacBook Air, a new iPad Air and a base iPad are scheduled for release, but an official announcement is likely to be pushed to March in line with Apple's traditional timetable. Mac mini and Mac Studio are expected to be unveiled in mid-year, and iPhone 17e is expected to be unveiled in February. New AirTag and Apple TV are also the subject of launch rumors, but a detailed timetable has not been confirmed.

On the software side, iOS 26.3 is likely to be distributed to general users this month. iOS 26.3 is an update focused on improving functions rather than a large-scale overhaul, introducing a new system that supports data transfer between iPhone and Android. It will also add a notification forwarding feature under European Union regulations and a proximity pairing feature with third-party accessories such as smartwatches and headphones. In the past, iOS 18.3 was released on Jan. 27 and iOS 17.3 on Jan. 22.

Along with iOS 26.3, macOS 26.3, iPadOS 26.3, watchOS 26.3, tvOS 26.3 and visionOS 26.3 are also expected to be unveiled this month. These updates are expected to be minor releases focused mainly on bug fixes and performance improvements.
