K-AI models deployed across public administration, from R&D budget reviews to elderly care

South Korean AI models are being deployed across public administration, from government R&D budget reviews to services for seniors living alone. The Ministry of Science and ICT said domestic models from Upstage, LG AI Research and Naver are being integrated into central and local government work. The rollout includes a shared AI platform for government networks, development of science-focused models through the K-Moonshot programme and an AI competition using K-AI models.

MSIT holds meeting with phase 2 Limit Challenge R&D lead PMs

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT held a meeting on the Limit Challenge R&D programme chaired by First Vice Minister Koo Hyuk-chae. The project supports high-risk research with potentially large scientific, economic and social impact. The ministry said lead programme managers oversee the full R&D process, from trend analysis and topic discovery to planning, progress checks and dissemination. The ministry aims to develop a Korean-style innovation challenge R&D management model.

South Korea holds AI investment forum with UAE

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT, the National AI Strategy Committee and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held a Korea-UAE AI infrastructure and semiconductor investment forum in Seoul. The event follows discussions by a bilateral government-private working group formed after a UAE state visit in November 2025. UAE participants included officials and representatives from Core42, MGX, ATRC, TII, Mubadala and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.
