Korea communications commission launches AI short-form \'Telecom Tips\' series
South Korea\'s Broadcasting and Media Communications Commission is launching a video series to provide telecommunications information needed in daily life. The commission said it is working with SK Telecom, KT, LG Uplus and the Korea Telecommunications Operators Association to deliver the information through AI-generated short-form videos under the title \'Telecom Tips for the Public\'. The campaign aims to convey verified information in an easy and engaging way as fake news grows.

Deepfake reports top 10,000 ahead of local elections, government steps up response
South Korea has received more than 10,000 requests to delete posts suspected of violating election rules by using deepfakes, a week before nationwide local elections. The Interior and Safety Ministry held an inter-agency working meeting on May 28 led by Vice Minister Kim Min-jae. Police said 921 people had been caught by May 27 for suspected black propaganda such as false or fake news. Authorities said they are working with regulators and the election commission on detection, deletion, complaints and investigations.

Public-private deepfake response R&D working group launched
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT on Wednesday formed a Deepfake Response R&D Working Group and held its first meeting to prevent and respond to deepfake 피해.
