Naver Pay to supply \'Npay Connect\' to Paris Baguette, integrating payments and reviews

Naver Pay said on Wednesday it signed a partnership with Paris Baguette to introduce its integrated offline terminal, Npay Connect. The terminal supports multiple payment methods including cash, cards, simple payments, NFC and facial recognition payment Facesign. Users can write Naver reviews and earn points directly on the terminal after paying, while merchants can secure reviews immediately. The companies plan a phased rollout from company-run stores in the second half.

Hancom to take part in 2026 Japan IT Week

Hancom said it will take part in 2026 Japan IT Week Spring in Tokyo from April 8 to 10. The company plans to present solutions centred on a digital trust chain spanning AI, biometric identification and electronic document technologies as it seeks to expand its business in Japan. It will highlight its HancomAUTH remote identity verification solution and a simple authentication platform, and will also introduce HancomDataLoader, a document-based AI technology product.

Mobile phone activation facial authentication rollout delayed, alternative options under review

South Korea has delayed the full rollout of a policy requiring facial authentication when activating mobile phones, reflecting concerns over personal data leaks and other issues. The Ministry of Science and ICT said on March 20 it will extend the pilot period for verifying identity using facial recognition to June 30. The procedure was introduced in December as part of anti-voice phishing measures, but drew recommendations from the National Human Rights Commission and requests for alternatives.
