Toss FacePay subscribers top 6 million
Toss said on Monday the cumulative number of subscribers to its facial-recognition payment service FacePay has exceeded 6 million, doubling in three months after topping 3 million in February. Subscribers rose to 4 million in March, 5 million in April and 6 million in May. Toss said repeat usage is rising and that more than 370,000 merchants can accept FacePay via Toss Front terminals as of early June.

Microsoft unveils Project Solara AI agent OS, built on Android rather than Windows
Microsoft on June 2 unveiled a new operating system, Project Solara, tailored for AI agents at its annual Build 2026 developer conference in San Francisco. Project Solara is designed on Android rather than Windows and focuses on running AI agents across devices such as smart speakers, security badges and earbuds. Microsoft also showed two concept devices, including a desk concept with face-unlock access to AI agents. It also introduced a Surface RTX Spark Dev Box with an Nvidia RTX Spark chip and 128GB unified memory. CEO Satya Nadella said Windows AI APIs would expand to more PCs, supporting CPU, GPU and NPU.

South Korea\'s National Participation Growth Fund effectively sold out on its first day of sales, with more than 87 percent of supply taken up and some online allotments closing in 10 minutes. Financial authorities are reviewing options to bring forward next year\'s supply or add more, with additional sales in the second half also discussed. Markets also saw spillover effects, while financial institutions and fintech firms moved to expand payment ecosystems and data-driven services.
