KOSPI reclaims 8,100 as foreigners turn net buyers for first time in 24 sessions
South Korea\'s KOSPI rose more than 4 percent on June 12 to reclaim the 8,100 level, supported by gains in U.S. stocks and strength in semiconductor shares. Foreign investors turned net buyers for the first time in 24 sessions since May 7, while institutions also bought. The Kosdaq climbed more than 3 percent to finish above 1,000. The won weakened slightly against the dollar.

South Korea\'s KOSPI on Tuesday slid back to the 7,700 level a day after a sharp rebound, as foreign investors and institutions sold in tandem and heavyweight chipmakers weakened. The index ended down 366.11 points, or 4.52 percent, at 7,730.82, and a selling sidecar was triggered, briefly halting program sell orders. The won slipped to 1,525.30 per dollar, adding to concerns about foreign flows.
