U.S. senator urges ban on elected officials issuing meme coins

Kazakhstan opens crypto market, issues first exchange licence

Kazakhstan\'s central bank has issued its first licence to operate a cryptocurrency exchange under a revised digital asset legal framework. The initial permit went to local company Pax Finance, allowing nationwide trading and custody beyond Astana\'s special financial zone. The central bank said a licensing regime began on May 1 and reiterated firms must also register with it. Authorities have also tightened enforcement, closing about 130 illegal venues and seizing assets.

Crypto ATMs face tighter space as U.S. states roll out bans and restrictions

The tougher rules are also pressuring operators, including Bitcoin Depot, which sought Chapter 11 protection in May.
