Mirae Asset Securities said on Wednesday it will revamp its mobile trading system (MTS), M-STOCK, into MAPS and convert it into an integrated investment platform spanning artificial intelligence (AI) and digital assets.

MAPS is short for Mirae Asset Portfolio Service. It is a portfolio-focused platform designed to let clients check their asset status, review their investment direction and move on to actual investing. It was applied in South Korea as the second rollout after the Hong Kong unit in June.

The revamp is a brand shift to apply Mirae Asset Group's mid- to long-term vision, Mirae Asset 3.0, to the mobile environment. It expands functions into a wealth management platform that analyses the market and personal portfolios together and supports investment decisions.

The home screen has been rebuilt around Discovery and My Investments. Discovery provides investment information including market trends, major indices, leading stocks, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and financial products. It also newly introduced an AI service called MarketNow that summarises intraday market trends in a single sentence at two-hour intervals.

My Investments is designed to let users check portfolio status centred on held assets and stocks and view related investment information at the same time. The current-price screen also adopted a simplified chart and changed its structure around frequently used functions.

A digital-asset menu was also added. It consists of Market, which lets users check digital-asset market information and prices, and Insight, which provides blockchain technology, the future financial industry and specialist research materials.

It also expanded global investment information. It provides U.S. unlisted share price information including Nasdaq Private Market (NPM), allowing users to check information not only on listed shares but also on unlisted innovative companies.

AI functions will be expanded into broader wealth management over time. Alongside AI Issue Check, which analyses the background behind sharp gains and declines, AI Business Summary, which summarises a company's business, and AI Investment Brief, which organises information on held stocks, the revamp added MarketNow.

A Mirae Asset Securities official said, "MAPS is a starting point implemented in a new way in the AI era," and added, "We will evolve into a global investment platform spanning traditional financial assets and digital assets."
