South Korea steps up push for one AI agent per person, to launch \'AI for Everyone\' service this year

South Korea plans to launch a free, general-purpose AI chatbot service called \'AI for Everyone\' in December using domestic AI models. The government aims to upgrade it into AI agents next year, targeting a \"one AI agent per person\" era. It will support construction of gigawatt-class AI data centres backed by 550 trillion won in private investment and pursue projects in physical AI, AI semiconductors, security and regional AI transformation hubs, and space and quantum programmes.

MSIT unveils deep tech startup activation strategy, holds results sharing event

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Innopolis Foundation held the 2026 Deep Tech Results Exchange on Sunday at Hotel ICC in Daejeon, sharing startup and commercialisation results created in research and development zones. The ministry unveiled a deep tech startup activation strategy, citing tasks such as easing researchers\' startup burdens, building demonstration infrastructure to convert technology into market value and fostering specialist investment and incubation institutions. Detailed measures will be released after inter-agency consultations.

KB Financial to be main sponsor of RoboCup 2026 Incheon

KB Financial Group will sponsor RoboCup 2026 Incheon, an AI and robotics international competition described as the world’s largest. It will run an on-site space where visitors can experience AI and robot technologies and will support programmes aimed at growing the robot industry ecosystem. The event opens on July 2 at Songdo Convensia in Incheon and runs through July 6, with teams from 45 countries and about 3,000 participants.
