Broadcasting media telecom committee to help production support projects raise investment, including \'Rookie Director Kim Yeon-kyung Season 2\'
South Korea\'s Broadcasting Media Telecommunications Committee said it will run a special programme at the 2026 Korea International Streaming Festival in Busan to support investment and overseas expansion for domestic broadcast content. The event runs from June 18 to 21. Activities include an international streaming summit session, screenings, an investor showcase and an awards segment. A closed-door showcase will introduce this year\'s supported projects.

Kakao Creation Foundation expands webtoon workspace support, 72 teams to benefit this year
Kakao Entertainment’s mutual growth foundation, the Kakao Creation Foundation, will sharply expand support to help webtoon creators secure stable working environments. Kakao Entertainment said the foundation and the Korea Manhwa Contents Agency signed an agreement on June 17 at the Webtoon Convergence Center to expand the programme. The foundation has increased the scale of support for three consecutive years. This year, 72 teams and 250 people will benefit, up 158 percent from last year.

Korea Creative Content Agency\'s new head Kim Yun-ji begins three-year term
Korea Creative Content Agency said its new president, Kim Yun-ji (김윤지), held an inauguration ceremony on June 15 at its headquarters in Naju, South Jeolla Province, and began work. Her three-year term runs until June 11, 2029. Kim, described as a content industry expert, previously worked as a senior researcher at the Export-Import Bank of Korea’s Overseas Economic Research Institute. She outlined priorities including IP value creation, strategic support from an export-policy perspective and proactive responses to AI and other advanced technologies.
