WeseAITech to work with Khwan Entertainment, speed launch of YouTube data-based platform Tumeet
WeseAITech, an AI and data specialist, said on Monday it signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Khwan Entertainment and will launch Tumeet, a YouTube data-based platform. The companies said the partnership reflects rising demand for strategic YouTube channel operations based on data. Tumeet is designed to review overall YouTube trends alongside a user’s channel data and connect insights to next actions for channel management.

Ahn Hyung-joon takes office as 28th Korea Broadcasters Association chairman
The Korea Broadcasters Association said on Aug. 3 that MBC CEO Ahn Hyung-joon took office on Aug. 1 as its 28th chairman, beginning a two-year term. In his inaugural remarks, Ahn said he would work to establish policy and institutional foundations so terrestrial broadcasters can continue to lead public-interest value and the future of South Korea’s broadcasting. He also pledged to focus on improving outdated and discriminatory regulations and highlighted universal viewing rights.

Warning signs as game industry growth slows, calls for tax credits for production costs
As growth and exports in South Korea\'s game industry slow, participants at a policy forum called for expanded support such as tax credits for game production costs. Korea Creative Content Agency executive Song Jin said games account for about 15 percent of content industry sales and 60.4 percent of exports, but get 6.9 percent of the budget. He projected 2030 targets would be missed without additional intervention. Speakers also urged tax and financing measures and listing incentives.
