Walls and desks as screens? Apple veteran unveils Lightbulb Computer concept

A concept computer could use walls, desks and ceilings as screens without a separate monitor. The design combines a projector with computer vision in a lightbulb-shaped device that can be mounted on a portable stand or installed in light sockets. It recognises voice commands and hand gestures and places information on nearby surfaces. A demo showed recipes, answers while reading and large maps projected on a desk. The designer said it could be an alternative to smart glasses and headsets, but it is not yet commercialised.

McDonald\'s bets $8.5 billion on AI to reshape restaurant operations

McDonald\'s has unveiled a three-year roadmap called \'McDonald\'s Next\' built around AI, including a $8.5 billion investment to improve restaurants and boost efficiency. The company highlighted a data flywheel, an AI-based store operating system called ArchIQ, and cooperation with Google on infrastructure. It said voice AI, automated inventory tracking and connected equipment will cut labor time and waste. McDonald\'s also introduced a global mobile platform, GMA1, to integrate ordering, marketing and loyalty.

SKT 24-year sponsorship pays off as South Korean fencing wins medals in all events at Asian Games

South Korea’s national fencing team, sponsored by SK Telecom for 24 years, won medals in every sabre, epee and foil event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. The men’s sabre team beat host Japan 45-44 to claim a fourth straight Asian Games title. SKT said it supported preparations using an AI-based analysis system, SKT-FAN, and has provided cumulative sponsorship worth 36 billion won since 2003.
