Qualcomm is detailing an “AI smartphone” concept in which AI agents, rather than apps, carry out tasks based on user intent. Cristiano Amon (크리스티아노 아몬), Qualcomm’s CEO, said at Snapdragon Summit 2026 in Maui that the shift is from apps and assistants to agents. Qualcomm said next-generation agentic AI devices can process up to 1 million tokens a day on-device. It also outlined expansion of agents to PCs, smart glasses, wearables and cars, and previewed a Snapdragon coprocessor combining memory and AI compute.

South Korea\'s three mobile carriers are expanding into robots and manufacturing as they pursue a shift into AI companies. They are accelerating development and commercialisation of “physical AI”, which perceives real-world environments and takes actions through robots or devices. SK Telecom is extending digital twin technology and pursuing robot data standardisation. KT is focusing on robot orchestration via its K RaaS platform and conducting industrial pilots. LG Uplus is linking voice-based AI to actions and testing network technologies.
