POSCO Future M completes approval for investment in Vietnam anode material plant
POSCO Future M will build its first overseas production base for synthetic graphite anode materials in Vietnam after receiving an investment registration certificate from Thai Nguyen province at a Korea-Vietnam business forum in Hanoi. The company plans to invest about 357 billion won, break ground on a first-phase plant in the second half of this year at the Song Cong 2 industrial complex, and begin mass production in 2028. It said it has secured customers for the first-phase volume.

Battery recycler Ascend Elements has entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the United States, TechCrunch reported on Thursday. The filing comes as the U.S. electric vehicle market slows. The report said the Trump administration’s cancellation of a $316 million subsidy earmarked for a Kentucky plant also contributed to the company’s funding strain. $204 million had already been disbursed, leaving the company seeking additional capital to cover the shortfall.
