South Korea enacts national AI ethics principles outlining three core values and seven principles
South Korea has enacted the \"Republic of Korea AI Ethics Principles,\" a shared standard for society to follow in AI development, provision and use. It sets three core values: human dignity, the public good and humanity\'s sustainability. It also outlines seven principles including human-centricity, privacy protection, fairness and inclusiveness, accountability, safety, reliability and transparency. The Science and ICT ministry said the principles lack legal force but will underpin sector-by-sector ethics standards and guidelines.

MSIT seeks participants for 2026 Autonomous Driving AI Challenge
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT is recruiting participants from July 1 to 31 for the 2026 Autonomous Driving AI Challenge, now in its third year. The contest provides training data built under a joint autonomous driving technology project involving multiple ministries and the National Police Agency, and evaluates the performance and suitability of participants\' AI algorithms. The main contest runs Aug. 10 to Sept. 23, with teams of 3 to 4 allowed up to five submissions.

MSIT publishes guidelines for autonomous driving E2E training data
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on June 19 it published guidelines and specifications for building end-to-end autonomous driving training data. The ministry said E2E autonomous driving uses a single AI model from sensor input through perception, decision-making and vehicle control, requiring large-scale data. The guidelines cover data collection, processing, alignment and correction, labeling and system requirements, and were developed through a joint government project with participation from IITP, KADIF and ETRI.
