BYD probes distrust of Tesla FSD with promise of full compensation for self-driving accidents
Tesla has delayed plans to unveil its next-generation Roadster again, pushing the schedule to after August as development linked to SpaceX thruster technology takes longer than expected. The company is also pursuing sensor reliability, including a patent for a camera system that cleans its own lens. Xpeng unveils VLA 2.0, bets on human-like driving feel
Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng introduced its VLA 2.0 autonomous driving system, highlighting human-like driving judgments and rapid localisation. It said its in-house Turing AI chip and simulation-based training enable more natural driving than rule-based approaches. Xpeng said the system anticipates road situations and makes context-aware decisions. It also said the new GX offers up to 3,000 TOPS and processes more data inside the vehicle. The company said it can adapt abroad without HD maps or rewriting rules.
