BMW to start mass production of all-electric iX5 in U.S. in early 2027
BMW will begin producing the all-electric iX5 SUV early next year at its Spartanburg, South Carolina plant, its first electric-vehicle production outside Germany. The company plans to include the iX5 in the fifth-generation X5 lineup and start mass production in the first quarter of 2027. The new X5 will be offered with up to five powertrain types, with local investment, battery localisation, digitalised manufacturing and humanoid robots supporting production.

BMW iX5 to launch this summer with 144 kWh battery
BMW plans to equip its iX5 electric SUV, due to launch this summer, with a 144 kWh battery. The usable capacity for the U.S. iX5 xDrive60 is set at 144 kWh, while the European model is about 141 kWh, making it BMW’s largest battery among current EVs. BMW has not disclosed official range. The company is also updating suspension and using cell-to-pack technology, while testing in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Nongshim to set up Russia unit to target premium instant noodle market
Nongshim will set up a local sales unit in Moscow in June to step up its push into Russia’s instant noodle market and use it as a base for the wider CIS region. The company plans to focus on the premium segment, where products are priced at 200 roubles or more, and expand distribution through major retailers and e-commerce platforms. Supply will come from a Busan export plant due to be completed in the second half.
