Anthropic policy chief to visit South Korea next week to discuss Mithos with national AI strategy committee

Michael Sellitto, Anthropic\'s head of global policy, will visit South Korea next week and is expected to meet the National AI Strategy Committee to discuss cooperation on AI security. The talks are expected to focus on Mithos, Anthropic\'s cybersecurity-focused AI model. Anthropic has not publicly released Mithos and instead launched Project Glasswing, a public-private security body that provides limited access to participating companies. Meeting arrangements remain undecided.

Diplomats from 56 countries gather at World IT Show to speed AI cooperation

South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT said it invited 85 members of diplomatic missions from 56 countries to World IT Show 2026 in Seoul on Wednesday to expand global cooperation in artificial intelligence and information and communications technology. Second Vice Minister Ryu Je-myung (류제명) introduced South Korea’s AI and ICT policies and guided diplomats around the exhibition to experience products and services.

Kakao Mobility to build K-autonomous driving open ecosystem

Kakao Mobility unveiled a strategy to internalise Level 4 autonomous driving technology and build an open ecosystem to boost South Korea’s self-driving industry. At a conference in Seoul, executive Kim Jin-gyu presented a roadmap combining a proprietary machine-learning model, redundancy-based vehicle design and a validation platform linking simulation and real-world data. The company also plans an integrated safety management platform and expanded monitoring capabilities. It also introduced its late-night autonomous vehicle service in Seoul’s Gangnam area.
