South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Wednesday it invited 85 members of diplomatic missions from 56 countries in South Korea to World IT Show 2026 at COEX in Seoul to expand global cooperation in artificial intelligence and information and communications technology.

Second Vice Minister Ryu Je-myung (류제명) introduced South Korea’s AI and ICT policies and technologies at an event for invited diplomats on Wednesday afternoon. He toured the exhibition with them and guided them to experience AI and ICT products and services from South Korean companies. In welcoming remarks, Ryu stressed that he would actively support promising South Korean AI and ICT companies in entering global markets, using the World IT Show as an opportunity.

In particular, a newly created Global Pavilion this year featured 13 companies from 6 countries, including Vietnam, presenting their ICT technologies and products and expanding possibilities for international cooperation.

Ryu said that with AI becoming part of everyday life, now is the golden time to build an ecosystem for physical AI. He stressed that policy support would continue so that South Korea can leap into the world’s top 3 AI powers and drive change across industry and daily life.

He added that the ministry would strengthen South Korea’s competitiveness in physical AI while further expanding the foundation for global cooperation through participation by diplomatic missions.
