Naver says AI Tab users top 10 million

Naver said on Tuesday that users of its agentic search service, AI Tab, have surpassed 10 million. It said the result reflects combining its service assets in search, shopping, local and content with AI technology to build an action-oriented service. Naver will add a chat window linking from AI Briefing to AI Tab, expand integrations with Smart Lens and other services, and roll out new agents tied to real estate, its Whale browser and health.

Naver unveils core technology behind AI Tab

Naver has unveiled key technologies used in its conversational AI search service AI Tab, which it launched on June 25. At a tech session in Seoul, it introduced a specialised lightweight model based on HyperCLOVA X, an operating framework called harness engineering, and Smart Lens-based multimodal technology. Executives said AI Tab must deliver conversational answers every time a user selects the tab, requiring high quality, speed, cost efficiency and stability at scale.

Naver will expand into Hyundai Motor Group vehicles by providing the Naver app, Naver Map and the Whale browser for the automaker\'s next-generation infotainment system, Pleos Connect. At the 2026 Busan Mobility Show, Hyundai unveiled The New Grandeur and The All New Avante equipped with Pleos Connect. The companies plan to expand the rollout across models. Naver Auto app will offer personalised briefings and navigation integration.
