Naver said on Tuesday that users of its agentic search service, AI Tab, have surpassed 10 million. It described the milestone as the result of combining Naver’s service assets in search, shopping, local and content with artificial intelligence (AI) technology to implement a competitive action-oriented service.

Naver will create a new chat window from Tuesday afternoon under AI Briefing, which more than 30 million people use each month, linking to AI Tab, it said. Users can check key summaries in AI Briefing and then move to AI Tab to continue follow-up questions and deeper exploration without interruption.

AI Tab operates based on more than 20 years of accumulated search infrastructure and a large user-generated content (UGC) ecosystem such as blogs and cafes. Unlike general conversational AI that stops at simple information exploration, it sought differentiation from global general-purpose models as an “action-oriented agent” that naturally connects to real actions such as purchases and reservations.

Since its official launch, growth in indicators has also been clear. AI Tab’s average daily queries rose 7 times versus the beta service, and queries per user increased 1.7 times. The share of multi-turn conversations that continue beyond one-off questions also rose. In particular, it provided personalised recommendations by analysing actual purchase data and shopping reviews in everyday searches such as consumer electronics exploration, household goods comparisons and fashion recommendations, cutting the time from search to decision-making by up to 60 to 70 percent.

Naver said it plans to expand the ecosystem by widening integrations between AI Tab and other services. Within this month, it will strengthen links between Smart Lens, AI Briefing and AI Tab to advance image-based search experiences. When users photograph a product with Smart Lens or upload an image, they can proceed through AI Briefing to AI Tab, completing follow-up questions and product purchases.

In August, it will unveil a listings search agent linked to Naver Real Estate and an agent specialised for the Whale browser. The real estate agent will combine Naver Pay real estate data, user-linked asset information and UGC to recommend tailored listings and reviews from actual residents. On the Whale browser, a sidebar agent will support overall browsing, including webpage summaries and viewing visit history.

Within this year, it also plans to introduce a health agent based on verified sources. It will offer a personalised health management experience by linking authoritative medical information with real experiences from Naver Cafe, and searches for hospitals and nutritional supplements.

Kim Kwang-hyun (김광현), Naver’s chief data and content officer (CDO), said, “Through AI Tab, Naver will provide a search experience tailored to domestic users that is differentiated from various domestic and overseas conversational AI services.” He added, “We will upgrade it into the best service in terms of reliability as well, and make it an AI service that users cannot do without in their daily lives.”
