Volkswagen sales chief says combustion cars are like horses and EVs are much better
Volkswagen has said the competitiveness of electric vehicles and persuading consumers matter more than Europe’s debate over combustion-engine regulations. Martin Sander, the company’s board member in charge of sales, marketing and aftersales, said consumers will ultimately accept that EVs are better than gasoline cars. He compared the shift to the transition from horses to cars, and said charging infrastructure, positive messaging and measures tied to energy prices are needed.

Audi is moving away from a development strategy centered on global common models and is strengthening market-specific vehicle strategies for key markets such as the United States and China. CEO Gernot Doellner said the brand’s global strategy will remain, but vehicle development will increasingly prioritize regional consumer needs. He cited the new Q9 as a U.S.-first model and said China requires a stronger “Local for Local” approach with localized production, supply chains and ecosystems.

Qualcomm shares up 75 percent in a month, emerges as a leader in physical AI
Qualcomm shares jumped 12 percent on May 22 to a record high and are up 75 percent over the past month, CNBC reported. The move reflects Wall Street’s recognition of Qualcomm’s position in the physical AI boom, it said. CNBC said Qualcomm is cementing its role as a key chip supplier for connected devices such as smart glasses, cars and robots. It also cited partnerships and contracts spanning automakers, and plans for data-centre chips.
