Observability fragmentation deepens as eG Innovations pushes single-platform approach

eG Innovations said growing use of IT monitoring tools has not solved operational problems as hybrid on-premise and cloud environments become more complex. Srihari Avar (스리하리 아바르) cited three issues: alarm overload, proliferation of monitoring tools and wasted manpower. The company said its EG Enterprise single platform monitors everything from user experience to infrastructure and supports automated root-cause analysis, domain-specific agents and expanding AI features.

AI token costs surge; Dell says on-premises, distributed cloud are the solution

As AI adoption accelerates, enterprise data centre strategies are shifting, with Dell Technologies expecting AI workloads to spread beyond public cloud to data centres, the edge and desktops. Senior executives said data location and token costs will become key variables in AI infrastructure planning. They highlighted on-premises deployments and deskside systems as a way to reduce per-token charges and data movement. Dell also promoted a distributed private cloud architecture as a next-generation option.

Leaving VMware could mean more complex and costlier infrastructure

Some companies are considering breaking with VMware after Broadcom shifted licensing to a subscription model, raising costs, but switching core software is not easy and could bring side effects. Gartner research vice president Paul Delory warned companies that leave may end up with more complex and less efficient infrastructure. He said there is no technical reason to choose rival hypervisors and no one-to-one replacement for VMware Cloud Foundation.
