The Broadcasting Media and Communications Commission on Sunday announced a strategy to support the development of the location information industry ecosystem. The plan includes easing rules to allow processed personal location data to be used for AI training and service development without consent, and updating notification methods for third-party provision. It also outlines a startup support centre, upgrades to emergency rescue requests and the introduction of altitude data, and stronger user protections, including higher administrative penalties and stricter sanctions for violations.

A touch-sensitive mousepad designed to reduce desktop peripherals has been unveiled, integrating Stream Deck, macro pad, MIDI controller and numpad functions into a single desk pad. A Reddit user introduced the Kage GhostPad, which hides 16 touch buttons beneath the surface and can be configured via a browser app after USB connection. It also includes a detachable LCD module and supports multiple programmable zones, with crowdfunding planned and an early-bird price of 129 euros.
