U.S., China accelerate AI investment race as U.S. relies on Big Tech, China on state funds

Rising funding for the U.S. and Chinese artificial intelligence industries is intensifying investment competition between the two countries. Global AI startup investment reached $255.5 billion in the first quarter of 2026, while Chinese AI ventures separately raised more than 110 billion yuan. OpenAI said on Wednesday it held a ChatGPT influencer talk show in Mapo district, Seoul, the previous day, inviting self-development lecturer Kim Mi-kyung, CEO of MKYU, as a speaker. The event, titled \"Kim Mi-kyung\'s ChatGPT Productivity Class: A Shift in the Way We Work\", drew about 30 influencers in productivity, career and self-development. OpenAI said the event aimed to strengthen direct communication with users.

Xbox changes official name to \'XBOX\' after fan vote on capitalisation

Microsoft’s gaming brand Xbox has changed its official name from \'Xbox\' to \'XBOX\'. Xbox updated its official account name on X and changed its handle from @Xbox to @XBOX after a user vote. The move aims to address confusion between the uppercase \'XBOX\' used on console logos and \'Xbox\' used on some official channels. Other official accounts, including YouTube, Threads and Bluesky, still use \'Xbox\'. Microsoft pointed inquiries to a post by Xbox CEO Asha Sharma.
