Com2uS Holdings said on Tuesday it posted 15.6 billion won in second-quarter revenue, an operating loss of 5.3 billion won and net profit of 7.7 billion won.
The company said the operating loss narrowed from the previous quarter due to cost efficiency measures. It said net profit returned to black after gains were reflected from the sale of part of its stakes in affiliated companies. Com2uS Holdings plans to improve results in the second half through new game launches and expansion of its platform business.
The games business will pursue genre diversification, including idle RPGs, action massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG), collection RPGs and casual puzzles. In the second half, it released the collection RPG "Star Sailor" and the inference puzzle game "Color Sweeper".
The science-fiction action RPG "Ares: The Iron Vanguard" is preparing for a global launch in the third quarter after an early opening in 6 countries. The mobile RPG "Zenonia 1: Threads of Memory" and the metroidvania title "Fatal Claw" are set to be introduced on PC Steam and console platforms. The company also plans to additionally launch 3 or more new titles.
Com2uS Platform, a subsidiary, is upgrading artificial intelligence (AI) functions for its game backend service Hive and increasing the share of revenue from external game companies. In the cloud business, it secured 52 customers after forming a key partnership with Tencent Cloud.
Com2uS Platform plans to release "Hive Axil," optimized for AI agents, in the third quarter to target the global game backend service market.
