Hyundai Ioniq 5 tops Tesla in 500,000 used EV battery health survey

Hyundai Motor\'s Ioniq 5 posted top battery health results in a large survey based on 500,000 used electric vehicle battery checks, beating Tesla\'s Model Y and Model 3 at 50,000 km and 100,000 km. Austrian diagnostics firm Aviloo analysed 20 popular models from 2022 to 2026. The survey also found wide variation between individual vehicles, suggesting mileage and model alone may not indicate real-world range and performance.

An Australian owner who has driven the electric Genesis GV70 for about four years shared real-world data from 44,000 km of use, covering long-distance trips, efficiency, charging costs, maintenance and convenience features. He said he chose the model for range, cargo space and a familiar interior with physical controls. He reported an overall average of 19.6 kWh per 100 km and said home solar helped cut charging costs.

Tesla rejects Swedish union demands as 1,021-day strike ends

Sweden\'s largest industrial union IF Metall will halt a 1,021-day strike against Tesla, ending nearly three years of industrial action after the automaker refused to sign a Swedish-style collective agreement. The union said continuing the strike had become ineffective as Tesla effectively phased out participating members. The dispute began in October 2023 and drew solidarity actions in Sweden and nearby countries, including port blockades and service refusals.
