To extend EV battery life, avoid habits that speed up degradation

EV battery performance declines faster depending on how often drivers use DC fast charging, the power level used and exposure to hot climates, Engadget reported. Geotab analyzed telematics data from more than 22,700 vehicles across 21 EV models and found average annual degradation of 2.3 percent. Vehicles with higher fast-charging shares and frequent charging above 100 kW showed higher degradation. Hot regions also recorded greater annual battery wear.

LG Electronics demonstrates road-tested traffic safety solution at Gangneung ITS world congress

LG Electronics is stepping up efforts to target the global traffic safety solutions market with vehicle-to-everything communications technology aimed at reducing traffic accidents. The company demonstrated a next-generation solution through a live road-driving trial at the 2026 ITS World Congress in Gangneung, Gangwon province. The system combines V2X and V2N to warn drivers of hazards such as stopped vehicles, roadworks, bad weather, approaching ambulances and pedestrian collision risks.

Russia makes national tracking network link mandatory for civilian drones over 250g

Russia is tightening control of civilian drones by linking flight plan approval to connection with its national tracking system. From Oct. 1, flight plans for civilian drones weighing more than 250 grams will be rejected unless connection to the ERA-GLONASS national telematics platform is confirmed. Owners must verify an active ERA-GLONASS account when submitting plans. The move ties a remote identification system launched in March to actual flight permissions.
