LG Electronics will present a next-generation telematics solution that integrates a vehicle communication module and antenna into one. LG Electronics' Vehicle Solution business unit said on Tuesday it will unveil at MWC 2026 in Barcelona a next-generation smart telematics solution that combines a vehicle communications TCU and antenna into a single module. It is the first time the unit has taken part in the exhibition.
LG Electronics is participating in MWC to strengthen strategic cooperation with automakers and telecom operators seeking next-generation communications solutions. It will run a private booth for B2B customers, including automakers, to identify potential customers and expand business opportunities.
The solution integrates into a single module an antenna that collects various external signals, including 5G, GPS, V2X and satellite communications, and a TCU that converts the collected signals into data and delivers it to internal software. LG Electronics said it designed and optimised key components in-house, reducing component size while advancing signal processing algorithms.
It integrates components that were previously installed in different spaces, minimising signal loss that occurs in connection sections between parts. The company said it can also process quickly and stably not only massive data coming from outside the vehicle but also data from connected IT devices inside the vehicle, and it has security that meets international standards and regulations.
Eun Seok-hyun (은석현), head of LG Electronics' Vehicle Solution business unit, said, "In the vehicle communications field, which has become core to mobility competitiveness, we will continue to introduce innovative solutions based on the world's No. 1 telematics technological capabilities to lead the era of AIDV beyond SDV."
