Korean telecoms launch Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses
SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus on Tuesday launched the second-generation Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and began targeting the AI wearable market. Developed through a partnership between Meta and global eyewear company EssilorLuxottica, the glasses support AI functions via voice commands as well as photo and video capture, calls and music. The telecoms are selling the Wayfarer model for 690,000 won or 740,000 won, depending on lens and frame options, and are offering bundled benefits and offline sales.

SKT to roll out AI across T World stores to upgrade consultations and operations
SK Telecom said on Tuesday it will fully introduce AI across its offline T World stores to drive customer service innovation. The company has begun disclosing store ratings based on AI-led customer surveys and is building development and infrastructure to introduce in-store AI agents from September. It aims to apply AI across the customer journey, add a personalised store search function by 2027, expand consultation analysis, and promote online consultation and visit reservations.

SKT to distribute Pokemon 30th anniversary Magikarp promo card
SK Telecom will begin distributing a Pokemon 30th anniversary Magikarp promo card from July 7 at 520 T World stores nationwide and at T Factory. The card will be provided to all about 110,000 participants who completed a 1 km running mission in Pokemon Korea’s Pokemon Run Online Challenge held in June. Recipients must reserve a pickup location and date through a link sent by text message.
