Nokia says AI-RAN is reality as it speeds network-AI integration

Nokia unveiled AI-RAN, AI-based network operations and next-generation optical communications technologies aimed at responding to the spread of AI services. Nokia Korea held its Amplify Korea 2026 event in Seoul, where it shared network technology and market trends for the AI era with domestic telecom operators and enterprise customers. MSIT to draw up five-year national R&D investment strategy, holds public hearing

South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT said it held a public hearing on Thursday in Seoul to prepare a draft second national mid- to long-term R&D investment strategy for 2026 to 2030. The plan is a top-level statutory blueprint setting strategic goals and directions for national R&D budget investment over the next five years. The ministry said it will refine the strategy based on feedback and finalise it in August after review by the National Science and Technology Advisory Council.

Samsung strategy meeting shifts from crisis response to AI-native push

Samsung Electronics\' global strategy meeting has shifted in tone from last year\'s emergency management to a companywide AI transformation drive, backed by a recovery in results and a return to the top spot in DRAM. The company plans to apply AI across all work areas, from R&D to production, marketing and support. It will also formally adopt external generative AI services and expand training for executives and employees this year.
