Bitcoin surges as tech stocks stall, driving short liquidations

Bitcoin jumped to the $69,000 range, triggering forced liquidations of $1.22 billion in short positions in just 1 hour, the report said. Ether broke above $2,000 and solana rose 11.52 percent to $85.41. CoinGlass data showed $1.46 billion in positions across 111,060 traders were liquidated over 24 hours, led by bitcoin. Market participants also pointed to a divergence between weaker AI-related stocks and stronger crypto prices.
