Dell Technologies unveiled a wide range of new products aimed at data centre modernisation as artificial intelligence adoption accelerates. Announced at Dell Technologies World 2026 in Las Vegas, the updates span storage, servers, security and automation to support AI workloads. Dell introduced the PowerStore Elite storage platform and expanded its 18th-generation PowerEdge server portfolio. It also launched new cyber-resilience offerings and updated private cloud and automation software.

AI-driven component supply crunch to hit Big Four motherboard makers\' 2026 sales
A deepening shortage of key PC components is driving a sharp drop in motherboard sales as demand for AI hardware surges, Tom\'s Hardware reported on Wednesday. The outlet said Nvidia, Intel and AMD are cutting production of consumer chips to boost AI processor output, lifting prices for parts such as memory modules and storage drives over the past six months. It said the four major motherboard makers have lowered their internal 2026 sales goals.

Tech Insight: Why software supply chains are being breached quickly amid the spread of AI coding
A widely used software package, Axios, was hacked after attackers took over a maintainer account, added a new dependency and shipped an update. The added package installed a tailored remote-access trojan and erased traces, while many security tools failed to flag it. Andreessen Horowitz partners said the case shows software supply-chain risk rising as AI coding spreads. They cited research finding AI agents more often pick vulnerable versions and enable new attacks such as slopsquatting, while detection remains slow in the industry.
