Industry minister Kim Jeong-gwan to directly oversee Chungcheong mega project after southwest

South Korea\'s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said Industry Minister Kim Jeong-gwan chaired the fourth meeting of a public-private task force on the Chungcheong region\'s advanced strategic industries mega project. Participants included investing companies, local governments and relevant ministries. The task force was set up to support implementation of a 392 trillion won investment plan announced in July. The meeting reviewed investment progress, permitting issues and infrastructure needs such as power and water.

Robinhood Chain transactions fall 42 percent in a month

Transactions on Robinhood\'s blockchain, Robinhood Chain, fell by more than 40 percent over a month, a report said. Average daily transactions slipped to 6.2 million in Oct. 2-8 from 10.8 million in Sept. 10-16, down 42 percent, and were 20 percent lower than the prior week. Average daily active addresses fell 31 percent to about 322,000. Deposits rose about 2 percent to $1.04 billion, and stablecoin supply increased slightly to about $1.1 billion.

Toss online investment-linked financing push faces scrutiny over conflict of interest

Concerns mounted at a parliamentary audit over fintech platform Toss\' plan to enter online investment-linked finance, with lawmakers warning of potential conflicts of interest and market distortion. They said a large financial platform could affect a market developed by smaller fintech firms, especially if Toss supplies loan products while running a loan comparison platform. Lawmakers urged regulators to review rules and governance issues. The Financial Services Commission chairman said he would revisit the concerns.
