Smilegate's new massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) "Eclipse: The Awakening" ranks No. 1 in revenue on both Google Play and Apple's App Store five days after launch.
Smilegate said on Sept. 15 that Eclipse, developed by Npixel, recorded No. 1 on Google Play's top-grossing chart. The game ranked No. 1 in App Store revenue immediately after its Sept. 10 launch.
The company will also provide user rewards to mark the No. 1 ranking on both platforms. Smilegate will give 10,000,000 gold and growth items, including "Sanctuary Acceleration Blessing" and "Equipment Enhancement Stone," to users who log in through Oct. 14.
Users of the new world "Belzera," which opens on Sept. 16, will also receive the same rewards.
It is also adjusting its operational direction after launch. Smilegate held an "Eclipse Developer Live" on its official YouTube channel on Sept. 14 and 공개했다 its improvement plans based on user feedback.
Producer Lee Sang-moon (이상문) appeared on the broadcast and explained key changes, including refining the combat environment for melee classes and lowering world boss difficulty.
Eclipse is an MMORPG built around growth and combat, and it also applies a system designed to reduce the burden of logging in. In the core content, "Sanctuary," it provides summon tickets and growth items over time, and it enables continued character growth even when users are offline through an "AI mode."
Smilegate director Jae-ik Shin (신재익) said, "We are grateful that we were able to create the achievement of ranking No. 1 in revenue on both platforms together with our users." He added, "We will continue to improve the service and content."
