AI safety differs from security; Korean-style technology can be competitive
AI safety should be approached through a separate evaluation framework, not as an extension of cyber security, Selectstar\'s AI safety team lead Kim Min-woo said. He cited risks such as hallucinations, hate, bias and harmfulness in generative AI. He said AI red-teaming tests models for unintended or harmful outputs, and that benchmarks must reflect local culture and goals. He also said AI agents using databases, RAG and plugins add complexity.

Selectstar passes technology assessment for Kosdaq tech listing
Selectstar, an AI data and reliability evaluation specialist, said on Aug. 3 it passed a technology assessment required for a Kosdaq listing under the technology special listing track. Based on the result, it plans to proceed with its initial public offering process with lead manager Daishin Securities and apply for preliminary listing review within the year. The assessment covered data creation, verification and evaluation technologies to secure AI reliability.

Selectstar runs red team challenge at Financial Security Institute AI camp
Selectstar said on Wednesday it operated AI safety training and a red team challenge at the 2026 Financial Security AI Academy Camp hosted by the Financial Security Institute and sponsored by KakaoBank. The programme, aimed at boosting AI and security skills in finance, ran from July 20 to 22 at the Kakao AI Campus in Yongin, south of Seoul, with 50 university and graduate students participating.
