Selectstar said on Wednesday it operated AI safety training and a red team challenge at the '2026 Financial Security AI Academy Camp' hosted by the Financial Security Institute and sponsored by KakaoBank.

The camp was an education programme aimed at boosting practical AI and security capabilities in the financial sector. It was held from July 20 to 22 at the Kakao AI Campus in Yongin, south of Seoul, with 50 university and graduate students participating.

Selectstar provided an AI red-teaming platform and oversaw event operations. Participants used various attack techniques across general safety and finance-specific safety areas to analyse AI model vulnerabilities and risk factors in financial services.

Selectstar also introduced an AI evaluation system that automatically analysed and scored the attack results submitted by participants. The team competition used a 'human versus AI' format, with participants and multi-AI agents carrying out the same mission.

The Financial Security Institute plans to expand the red team challenge to employees of financial companies to support the training of AI security experts in the financial sector.

Kim Min-woo (김민우), head of Selectstar's AI Safety Team, said, "As generative AI is rapidly being applied to financial services, verification capabilities that reflect not only general safety but also the characteristics and regulations of the financial sector are becoming more important." He said, "Based on our AI reliability verification platform, we will support financial companies' safe adoption of AI and systematic risk management."
