Microsoft pushes to produce 300,000 in-house AI chips next year, in talks with TSMC
Microsoft aims to sharply increase production of its next-generation in-house AI chips next year to win large customers such as Anthropic, The Information reported, citing two people familiar with the matter. The company plans to unveil the new Maia300 chip this autumn, possibly as soon as next month, and is negotiating with TSMC to secure 2027 capacity of more than 300,000 chips. It ultimately wants capacity above 1 million chips, but may face constraints.

Microsoft confirms Copilot \'super app\' launch this year
Microsoft will launch a super app this year that bundles Copilot chat, coding and agent features, The Verge reported. The app is expected to cover both consumer and commercial experiences. CEO Satya Nadella said on an earnings conference call that Copilot is evolving quickly and that Microsoft is integrating Copilot experiences, including code, into a single super app this quarter, with details to be disclosed soon.
