MegazoneSoft signs strategic partnership agreement with Google Cloud

MegazoneSoft, an affiliate of AI and cloud company MegazoneCloud, has signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement with Google Cloud and will seek industry-specific innovation cases centered on four core areas, it said on April 21. The companies named AI, data, security and Google Workspace as key fields and plan to expand in the South Korean market based on regular performance reviews. MegazoneSoft also outlined plans across AI solutions, data services, security offerings and marketplace support.

Mirae Asset to develop Honam region\'s first five-star JW Marriott hotel on Yeosu Gyeongdo

Mirae Asset Management said on Thursday it will develop a JW Marriott hotel on Gyeongdo in Yeosu, South Jeolla province, marking the first global five-star hotel brand in the Honam region. The company held a signing ceremony on Wednesday in Seoul for a management contract for the hotel site within the Yeosu Gyeongdo development area. Mirae Asset is investing about 1 trillion won in the broader development, targeting completion in 2029.

Kakao Mobility steps up shift into robotics company

Kakao Mobility is accelerating a shift beyond mobility platforms toward robotics, with CEO Ryoo Geung-seon (류긍선) declaring a push to lead the physical AI era and secure technology sovereignty. The company says its data, mapping and road network information, operational standardisation and infrastructure can underpin robotics. It has built a commercial robot delivery model with Robotis at premium hotels and is expanding partnerships. Kakao Mobility is also strengthening autonomous driving capabilities.
