U.S. Senate banking panel CLARITY bill lifts bitcoin on hopes of clearer rules
Bitcoin jumped to $81,000 after the U.S. Senate Banking Committee approved the CLARITY bill. The measure passed 15 to 9, mostly along party lines, with two Democrats voting in favor. The bill must still pass the House before going to President Donald Trump if lawmakers agree on a final text. Crypto industry groups broadly support the push for clearer rules, while banks raise concerns over stablecoin rewards and potential deposit outflows.

Grades drop as reliance on AI grows; asking for hints and explanations is OK
Students who studied with the help of artificial intelligence performed better in practice but recorded lower accuracy and response rates in the test phase, a study found. Researchers ran three experiments on fraction problems and SAT-style reading questions. In each, AI access was cut without warning when tests began, and the AI group’s scores fell while skipping increased. The biggest drop came from those asking AI for answers, while requesting hints or explanations had less impact.
