Lisa Su says gaming is a very important business for AMD, will expand AI integration

AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su said the company will continue to nurture gaming as a key business even as the AI market expands. She said gaming keeps demanding high computing performance, and AMD plans to apply AI to game graphics and development to improve performance and efficiency. At an event in Seoul, Su and AMD executive Jack Huynh said AMD will support PCs, consoles and handheld devices, expand machine learning technologies, and keep supporting platforms to reduce upgrade burdens.

AMD \'Gainsborough\' chip appears as possible Steam Deck 2 candidate

AMD’s unannounced chip codenamed “Gainsborough” is being discussed as a possible processor for Valve’s next handheld game device, the Steam Deck 2, after the name appeared in AMD drivers. The chip is thought to be semi-custom and to align in part with handheld power and package requirements, and shipping records suggest test equipment was transported for validation. Still, available information is not enough to confirm Valve as the customer.
