Hecto Data updates AI sample code service, adds six programming languages

Hecto Data said on May 26 it has upgraded its AI sample code service to improve convenience for API integration. The company added six programming languages in a second update to the service launched in February, bringing the total supported languages to nine. It said the service uses AI to automatically generate code in real time when linking various APIs. As of May 17, cumulative code generation stood at about 700 cases, it said.

Moonshot AI releases open-source LLM Kimi-K2.6

Chinese AI startup Moonshot AI has unveiled the latest version of its open-source large language model series, Kimi-K2.6, SiliconANGLE reported on Monday. Moonshot AI says Kimi-K2.6 outperforms GPT-5.4 and Claude Opus 4.6 across multiple AI benchmarks. The model is based on the SwiGLU activation function and uses a mixture-of-experts structure with 384 experts, activating eight per prompt to reduce hardware use. It also includes a vision encoder and can run up to 300 agents in parallel.

Why programmers are embracing AI despite coding disruption

Software development is seen as one of the areas most rapidly reshaped by AI. Freelance journalist Clive Thompson interviewed more than 70 developers and found many view AI-driven coding automation positively, despite concerns in other fields about job displacement. He says AI tends to take over repetitive, time-consuming coding, allowing developers to focus on higher-value work. The shift also changes roles toward architecture and oversight, while productivity gains differ between startups and mature firms.
