QAI appoints Seoul National University hybrid quantum computing centre head Jeong Hyeon-seok as adviser

Quantum technology company QAI said on Oct. 30 it appointed Jeong Hyeon-seok, head of Seoul National University’s Hybrid Quantum Computing Center (NextQuantum), as an adviser. Jeong received a PhD in theoretical physics from Queen’s University in Britain in 2003 and joined Seoul National University as a professor in 2008 after research roles in Australia. QAI plans to speed up building a hybrid AI data centre combining QPU, GPU and NPU resources.

Bitwise raises Bitcoin base-case target to $1,599,766 by 2036

Asset manager Bitwise raised its base-case target for Bitcoin in 2036 to $1,599,766, up from $1.3 million a year earlier, Bitcoin Magazine reported. The forecast assumes a 34.3 percent compound annual growth rate from a Sept. 30, 2026 price of $83,557. Bitwise cited growing institutional allocations, constrained new supply and rising government debt. It also pointed to regulatory and technical risks, including quantum computing threats.

More than 95 percent of Bitcoin already mined; supply tightening in focus ahead of 2028 halving

More than 95 percent of Bitcoin\'s total issuance cap of 21 million coins has already been mined, with about 20.1 million supplied to the market, the report said. The next halving is expected around April 2028, when mining rewards and daily new issuance are set to be cut in half. A service called OpenBitcoin was introduced as offering countdowns and tools to track Bitcoin data, fees, exchange conversions and educational guides.
