Stellar pursues quantum-resistant migration without address changes, signing key replacement central

The Stellar Development Foundation unveiled QPP, a roadmap to prepare the Stellar (XLM) network for quantum computers, and said it aims to complete a shift of all accounts to quantum-resistant signatures by the end of 2027. The plan is designed to keep existing addresses and transaction histories intact while replacing only signing keys. Coinbase urges urgent quantum-resistant shift, warning 7 million bitcoin could be at risk

Major blockchains such as Bitcoin and Ethereum should immediately begin preparations to migrate to quantum-resistant systems, a Coinbase advisory group warned in a new report. The group said handling coins not moved to quantum-resistant addresses is the key issue, estimating about 7 million bitcoin could be vulnerable in the future. It outlined options including freezing or burning coins after a deadline, user choice, and compromise measures, while noting concerns about forced burns and property rights.

Vice PM Bae holds talks in Belgium with EU on AI, science and technology cooperation

South Korea\'s Vice Prime Minister Bae Kyeong-hoon (배경훈) met a European Union executive commissioner in Brussels to discuss ways to expand cooperation in artificial intelligence and science and technology, the science ministry said. He accompanied President Lee Jae-myung on a state visit to Belgium and the EU. Bae also met Korean researchers at IMEC and discussed Horizon Europe participation, joint research in AI-driven innovation, advanced biotech and quantum technology, and wider researcher exchanges.
