MSIT checks on-site use of on-device AI chips, confirms commercialisation results
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT on Tuesday visited POSCO DX\'s Pangyo office and AI chipmaker DeepX to check on-site use of on-device AI semiconductors and hold a meeting with companies. The ministry said the chips in use were commercialised outcomes of projects supported through its R&D and pilot programmes. It reviewed deployments at POSCO DX and heard updates, plans and policy needs from suppliers and users.

Mobilint to work with POSCO DX on NPU-based industrial AI development
Mobilint said on Wednesday it signed a memorandum of understanding with POSCO DX to jointly develop industrial AI solutions based on AI semiconductors. The companies plan to combine AI chip technology and on-site operational capabilities to develop and commercialise solutions for manufacturing, robots, logistics and safety. Cooperation includes joint AI hardware development, proof-of-concept projects and technical verification, and building a collaboration framework. They also plan to shift AI infrastructure from GPUs to NPUs to cut costs and improve power efficiency.

DeepX demonstrates ultra-low-power AI chip technology in Singapore
DeepX said on Tuesday it demonstrated AI semiconductor technology at the Korea-Singapore AI Connect Summit in Singapore for President Lee Jae-myung and ministerial delegations from both countries. CEO Kim Nok-won unveiled an AI chip for Hyundai Motor robots due to be commercialised this year. The company also ran a heat-control demonstration for its DX-M1 chip and cited a supply deal with Baidu for 40,000 AI semiconductors.
