HSBC CEO warns not all data centres benefit from AI boom

IMF warns global public debt nears post-World War Two peak; AI firm borrowing another variable
The International Monetary Fund warned that inflation, rising sovereign debt and increased borrowing by artificial intelligence-related companies could strain government bond markets and lead to sharp, volatile jumps in yields. It said energy cost increases linked to the Middle East conflict and expectations of tighter policy have already pushed yields in several advanced economies to multi-decade highs. The IMF also pointed to growing hyperscaler bond issuance and remaining hedge fund leverage as risks.

Korea Investment Securities expands global investment products with Fidelity, PIMCO and Carlyle
Korea Investment Securities is partnering with global asset managers including Fidelity International, PIMCO and Carlyle to expand its global investment business, from research to bonds and alternative assets. The company said it will integrate partners’ investment capabilities into its products and services. It signed an MOU with Fidelity in London and separate MOUs with PIMCO and Carlyle in New York, including plans for joint product development and expanded research services.
