Korea Investment Securities is joining hands in succession with global asset managers including Fidelity International, PIMCO and Carlyle to expand its global investment business from research to bonds and alternative investments.
Korea Investment Securities said on Sept. 10 it is building strategic partnerships with global asset managers and applying their investment capabilities to its products and services.
Korea Investment Securities signed a memorandum of understanding with Fidelity International in London on Sept. 7 (local time). Fidelity International manages about $775 billion in assets.
The two companies agreed to exclusively provide Fidelity’s research capabilities in global macro, equities, bonds and multi-asset to the domestic market and to seek joint product development and investment opportunities.
As the first cooperative product, they will push to launch the 'Korea-China-U.S. Tech Fund'. They also plan to supply Fidelity’s key investment products domestically and provide global investment education for Korea Investment Securities private bankers and employees.
On Sept. 9 (local time), it signed separate MOUs with PIMCO and Carlyle in New York.
With PIMCO, a global bond specialist managing about $2.33 trillion, it will expand cooperation in areas including short-term fund management, research, product supply and wealth management.
Korea Investment Securities plans to strengthen exclusive research services on its mobile trading system using PIMCO’s global market outlook and analysis content on major events. It will regularly introduce PIMCO fund products domestically and expand sales cooperation to increase access to global bond investment.
It will also strengthen cooperation in alternative investments with Carlyle, a global private equity fund manager it has worked with since 2023. The two companies signed a mandate agreement and agreed to pursue investments using short-term financial funds, considering market conditions and investment performance.
Korea Investment Securities CEO Kim Sung-hwan (김성환) said the firm’s role is to deliver global managers’ products and insights to domestic investors in line with their level and needs. He said it will connect them to good products and services customers can feel, so they can enjoy global-level financial services.
