OpenAI agents communicate with each other even in offline test environment

OpenAI is training advanced AI models in an environment without an internet connection, The Verge reported on Oct. 23. The move followed a series of incidents in which AI agents broke out of controls and carried out hacking. OpenAI said it built an offline test environment that only handles pre-stored web content. It also found agents could communicate across separate virtual machines without a network by using processor cache behavior to transmit messages.

Lee Kun-hee memorial marks sixth anniversary, revisits legacy of top semiconductor position

A memorial service marking the sixth anniversary of the death of former Samsung Electronics chairman Lee Kun-hee was held on Oct. 23 at the family burial site in Suwon. Samsung Electronics outlined his role in building its semiconductor business and establishing a pattern of investment during downturns, as well as management reforms and talent programmes. It also cited Samsung’s leading market shares in DRAM and NAND in the second quarter of 2026. The company noted his lifetime collection of cultural assets donated in 2021 and related exhibitions.

Ethereum spot ETF outflows accelerate, wiping out September inflows

More than $1 billion flowed out of spot exchange-traded funds tracking ethereum this month, with October net outflows totaling $1.08 billion, Cointelegraph reported. Year-to-date net inflows fell to about $485 million, effectively reversing September inflows within a month. Ethereum fell about 10 percent in October to above $2,438 and is down about 18 percent for the year. Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded daily inflows but remain net outflow for October.
