Meta teams up with Apple on local AI as Muse Spark Open runs on Macs

Meta has released its open-weight AI model Muse Spark Open and has also partnered with Apple, despite a strained relationship. Meta suggested a local setup linking two Mac Studio systems with M5 Ultra chips and 512GB of unified memory each. The Wall Street Journal reported Apple updated its MLX AI tools to help the model run smoothly on Macs. Meta AI chief Alexander Wang said the companies are seeking productive ways to collaborate.

Dell Technologies expands AI data platform to provide data context to AI agents

Dell Technologies said on Wednesday it is expanding functions of its Dell AI Data Platform to help companies secure trusted, up-to-date context from their own data and provide it to applications and AI agents. Dell said many bottlenecks in scaling AI come from data spread across files, databases, cloud services and distributed systems. It introduced a unified semantic layer, an enterprise knowledge graph and knowledge agents to build and share context across applications without vendor lock-in.

Nvidia partners with Palantir to roll out sovereign AI in core supply chain

Nvidia said on Sept. 11 it will work with Palantir Technologies to introduce sovereign AI into its supply chain, starting with Nvidia’s own operations. The companies plan to build an AI stack by integrating Nvidia Nemotron open models into Palantir Foundry and its AI Platform, based on Palantir Ontology. Nvidia said the effort aims to raise supply chain visibility, strengthen operational expertise and maintain control and ownership of proprietary data.
