Science ministry, KISA launch 7 programmes to strengthen SME security basics
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Thursday it will launch, with the Korea Internet & Security Agency, seven support programmes to help improve small and medium-sized companies\' security. Any domestic SME lacking security resources can use them for free. The programmes include a security investment guide, attack surface checks, software supply chain security diagnostics, information security support, AI vulnerability testing infrastructure, penetration testing and security vulnerability checks.

South Korea awarded individuals and organisations for contributions to digital inclusion and promoting a safe culture of digital use in the era of an artificial intelligence transition. The Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency held the 39th Information Culture Month ceremony in Seoul on Tuesday. Awards included 1 order of merit, 1 industrial medal, 6 presidential citations and other government citations. The event also featured booths on digital inclusion technology and AI risks.

MSIT holds joint briefing on 10 AI projects for livelihoods, to roll out services sequentially
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Thursday it will hold a joint briefing in Seoul on its \"10 AI projects for livelihoods\" to quickly introduce services people can experience in daily life. The projects span consumer life, public convenience and social safety, and involve 10 ministries and agencies and participating companies. The ministry plans to sequentially launch 4 services within 2026 and start the remaining 6 projects in the first half of 2027.
