Smart glasses illicit filming concerns spread; South Korea science ministry to prepare government-wide measures

AI smart glasses came under scrutiny at a parliamentary audit of South Korea\'s National Assembly science committee, amid concerns over covert filming and privacy breaches. Lee Jeong-heon (이정헌), a Democratic Party lawmaker, showed live footage filmed inside the audit venue and said it was hard to tell from appearance whether a device was recording. He cited online sales of stickers to cover LED recording indicators and pointed to misuse cases, while the minister vowed a government-wide response.

Xpeng targets 500,000 EV sales in Europe by 2030

Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng has set a goal of reaching annual global vehicle sales of 1 million units by 2030, with 500,000 of those to be sold in Europe. The plan would intensify competition with European automakers. Xpeng delivered 429,445 vehicles globally last year. Since entering Europe in 2020 starting with Norway, it has delivered about 60,000 vehicles cumulatively, and it is seeking to expand local production.
