Korea commission steps up response to false manipulated information, boosts platform accountability
South Korea\'s Broadcasting Media and Communications Commission plans to upgrade its response system to false and manipulated information under a revised information network law. It will push to strengthen accountability for large platforms and seek to set up a transparency centre to support fact-checking. The commission also plans to introduce labelling for online AI-generated content and raise transparency around recommendation algorithms. It is reviewing measures to regulate youth SNS use and preparing pay-TV regulatory changes and other media policy steps.

Korea commission adds Daum to large platform list under revised network act
South Korea\'s Broadcasting Media Communication Commission corrected the list of \"large-scale information and communications service providers\" under the revised Information and Communications Network Act to nine from eight after it confirmed that AXG, the operator of portal Daum, had been omitted. The final list includes five domestic platforms and four overseas platforms. Designated firms face obligations including handling reports of illegal or manipulated content and issuing transparency reports twice a year.

Nvidia targets $200 billion CPU market dominated by Intel and AMD
Nvidia is moving into the data centre central processing unit market, stepping into server chips long dominated by Intel and AMD. It has secured AI search startup Perplexity as the first customer for its next-generation Vera CPU platform. Nvidia says CPUs are increasingly a bottleneck in running AI services, reducing overall system efficiency. Tests run jointly with Perplexity showed Vera outperforming existing server CPUs, though results have not been independently verified.
